I wish I was a boy!
2022
Chahar asiab, Kabul
I am waiting for other girls, but I wish I could join the boys to play, but I am not allowed. I wish I was a boy so I could laugh loud, I could play with anyone, I could go anywhere I want. Anyway, the great thing is that at least I can enjoy others playing
Collecting bread for the night!
2022
Chanjeer, Helmand
No one is suffering more than a common citizen of Afghanistan. I collect bread for my family to eat at night, I am the eldest son and I have a big responsibility to collect bread at any cost so no one remains hungry. Since last August Afghanistan has suffered a huge food and humanitarian crisis, despite having 7 billion dollars we can’t use or spend it since we have no access to that money and that is not ours anymore.
Feeding to feed us back!
2022
Chanjeer, Helmand
This is one of my cows, producing almost 15 liters of milk a day, she is a healthy cow with a perfect routine. In the morning I serve her corn silage (conjawa: a mixer of many kinds of dry grains) around 10 AM I take her for a walk to get natural food (Green grass..) until 3 PM, after she gets back to her room she share her today’s story with others and make them laugh. That’s why she is the healthiest cow on the team.
Cutting trees!
2022
Lashkar Gah, Helmand
These trees were planted by my father years ago for shadow and fresh air in front of our home which covers 2000 square meters, we played in this jungle in our childhood but right now the economic situation is very tight and we cannot even afford woods for winter to warm ourselves instead of protecting our planet we are digging our graves with our own hands.
Haji Khan Mohammad Khan Qala!
2022
Rish-Khoor, Kabul
This Palace was owned by Haji Khan Mohammad Khan for 300 years, He was one of the richest men in this area and he distributed his land to schools, parks, and a large military town where every military lived without any cost or deduction from his/her salary. Free school and park for their children, a free water system to every home, and a pretty mosque to offer their prayers, a town where everyone lives with peace and love.
Let's jump together!
2022
Lashkar Gah, Helmand
Enjoying the moment of being free from a long working day. We are not going to school nor to Madrasa to acquire education. What we do is help our parents with their daily tasks, some of us help their fathers in their local business and some of us help with their mothers in their housework. We love our parents.
Afghan Gathering!
2022
Bost Qala, Helmand
"Getting up early in the morning, praying, and after breakfast getting to work until lunch break and again getting to work until afternoon, and now we are very tired and need an energetic break with our friends and neighbors. This is the moment we all wait from the beginning of the day. We always have conversations, and many kinds of games which make us laugh a lot."
Unknown Path!
2022
Chanjeer, Helmand
Afghanistan is an unknown path to an unknown future, no one thinks of the future indeed every Afghan thinks of today if we succeed so we can join our families at night for dinner otherwise no one knows what will be next. We still have hope and still try to make it.
Enjoying my 70s!
2021
Bost Qala, Helmand
I know a lot is happening out there but I enjoy my day with my little teapot and welcoming a lot of visitors to Qalai-Bost the ancient castle of the Baraich empire. I love to welcome visitors with a nice hot cup of tea with a small chocolate. You could not find this tea around Helmand at all.
Have a water brother!
2022
Laghman
This is my look after eating my lunch in a hurry and the bites get stuck in my throat, I can’t control myself after grazing sheep for five hours constantly without any break. I eat my meal while my eyes are closed and I don’t care what I am eating. Thank you, brother, for the water, it is always a wonderful feeling after the throat is released and I love my younger brother for helping me after the bite stuck in my throat, he knows my habits very well.
Fishing with electricity!
2022
Lashkar Gah, Helmand
The whole team knows how much worse the job we do but the truth is that we have no other option than killing fish with electricity. In this team, everyone has a family to feed. We can’t let our children sleep without food. Those who think that we do the worst job please think in our shoes first and then judge us.
This side of barbered wire!
2022
Lashkar Gah, Helmand
It is much harder to go to school on this side of barbed wire since there is war and no one makes it to their 30s but I will never give up; I want to cut this barbed wire so the next generation will be able to cross this line without any restriction and join their school peacefully.
Let's hide!
2022
Kunar
They can see us, we can not hide at all, do you know why and where are we now, the right we had is time to wait for us but they start looking at us that is not fair. I can see them all looking at us, that's unfair, bro, there is no fear and unfear, the one who wins even with blood in their hands is the winner no matter who's blood, so let's try something that they can not find us, we have only one option that is to run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run till where? I don't know but to hide from this unfair world, is impossible, what if we face other unfairness? they will treat us the same, that is true, then what is the solution, there is no, just wait for the storm to pass, or fight back.
True Champion!
2022
Lashkar Gah, Helmand
I am happy and glad that I have the best tire on our street. It is okay If I don’t have a bicycle to ride but I have at least my father’s bike tire. I can ride it until night and I really enjoy and love my tire and still, it is in good shape and condition. Never took him out of our street since there were a lot of boys who wanted my tire
Afghan Face!
2022
Chanjeer, Helmand
The hardest thing is when someone is born in Afghanistan, no one knows about their home, country, and future. Everyone thinks I am the luckiest human being on this earth but let me tell you the truth, The truth is that don’t be happy since you will be the same citizen as other 40 million citizens of this country who destroy their own homes, and country, fight with their own brothers, eat others rights, and destroys schools and kills pipuls.
I love my sheep!
2021
Chahar asiab, Kabul
This sheep has been with me from the time he was born from his mother, the whole family of our sheep is so sweet and loving. We keep them until they grow up and are ready for slaughter. I can’t let him be slaughtered but we don’t have an option. We need to keep ourselves alive so we can eat them and use their skin and hair for handmade crafts.
Old man and old van!
2019
Kabul
The poorer the country is, the more heat and deadly smoke it produces. If they could buy an electronic car then this will reduce local air pollution resulting in a clean and fresh environment. I don’t blame this old man and the car owner since the old man can afford only 10 AFN and the car owner can afford only this old and cheap car to earn some money for his family. Indeed, I blame the government and those who are in power and they haven’t brought any changes yet for their citizens and their environments
My donkey is my world!
2022
Bost Qala, Helmand
I love my donkey, I have had him since his birth, I raised him and he is a very nice friend of mine. We both go for a walk and work together. He loves green grass and loves to take me to new places around our villages. We both talk and laugh but no one knows it. We have our secrets which are just between us. We both wash ourselves together but he is scared of the deep river behind our village. My dad doesn’t allow me to get him to my room but we are still true and honest friends.
Thirsty for education!
2022
Lashkar Gah, Helmand
We had no school to acquire knowledge, no books to read, no notebook to practice and no pencil to write. Once we found a school to study, we had no teachers, once we found teachers, we had no books to read. After getting books we were unable to do our homework or practice. After getting stationary we were unable to carry our books and notebooks to school, after getting school bags and everything ready. We are now acquiring knowledge with love.
Yes, we are jobless!
2022
Lashkar Gah, Helmand
We need a good system for education, a good system for employment, and a good system for growth. It has been years since we are jobless and we are willing to work for our country and to build our country but how? There is no system and no leader who works for new graduates and makes facilities to put young people on the path and build a better country.
